Blog is a shortened term for weblog. A blog is today’s Internet version of the diary, with added sophistication. It is a user-generated website that collects entries, known as posts, in reverse chronological order, always listing the most recent post first. Blogs encourage reader participation through comments which can be added by filling in a simple form. Blogs can be used as personal journals or as an business marketing tool.
