Starter Kit - Often a required purchase when joining a direct sales company, the starter kit contains materials to help the consultant begin promoting the company and selling products. It may include products or product samples, catalogs, business forms, training materials, and the consultant policies and procedures. Starter kits are usually very reasonably priced.

Social Media - The online technologies and sites that make it possible for people to generate web content and interact with each other in real time. The content may be text, video, audio, or pictures shared through blogs, message boards, wikis, etc., and on sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

Sponsor - The person who recruits another into a party plan or MLM company. A sponsor usually helps train new recruits and receives a small commission on the team member's sales.
